Xiaoquan obtained his M.S. in Computer Science from State University of New York at Stony Brook, and Ph.D in Microbiology from Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 2016, he worked as Visiting Scholar in UCSD supported by CSC. In 2011 he joined Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, CAS as a faculty member. He is currently an associate professor and the leader of Bioinformatics group in Single-Cell Center. He has published over 10 research papers on leading journals such as mBio, Bioinformatics, BMC genomics, BMC systems biology and etc, and obtained more than 5 patents/software copyright authorizations.
